Description
Last year, Central Presbyterian Church hosted Kansas City's first Guns to Gardens event, and are now planning a second event to take place this October. Guns to Gardens is a safe surrender event, where individuals are invited to safely and anonymously surrender their unwanted firearms. The unwanted firearms are then dismantled on site. In partnership with a local blacksmith, the dismantled pieces are then made into garden tools, jewelry, and home decorations, among other things. In 2024, we destroyed 81 unwanted firearms, making our community a little safer.
