Description
Researchers from the Urban Education Research Center will share findings from the 2024 Voices of Pride Needs Assessment, an 11-month study exploring the needs, strengths, and resources of the LGBTQ+ community in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The assessment focused on key areas such as safety, economic and housing security, healthcare (including mental health and substance recovery), legal support, community connection, social life, and civic engagement. Over 1,100 LGBTQ+ individuals participated in the survey. The presentation will highlight major themes identified through surveys and focus groups, along with recommendations for addressing KC’s specific community needs.
