Join the Black & Veatch Pride ERG during BV's First Global Diversity & Inclusion Week where we will be celebrating our differences. All people are welcome to attend this event. Our guest speaker for our National Coming Out Day event is Joel Barrett.
Joel Barrett is an LGBTQ writer, speaker, and gatherer. He is recognized for his honesty in sharing his story as a former Baptist pastor and survivor of ex-gay therapy. He has a unique ability to bring people together, his message encourages everyone to challenge their fears and live with authenticity and transparency. He is a regular guest expert on podcasts, news reports, and panel discussions. His book Godly, But Gay was released in 2020. He and his husband of 13 years, David, moved to Kansas City in 2016.
