DESCRIPTION:July 30th B2B: New Board Member Approval\n\nVoting Open to All Members \n\nAs a membership organization\, all new Mid-America LGBT Chamber board members are presented to membership for approval before being recognized as Board Members. We are excited to announce that our 2020 Board Member applicant pool was the most diverse in our Chamber's history and more representative of our entire LGBTQ and Greater Kansas City Community than ever before.\n\n\n\nAmong the applications considered: \n\n\n 50% of applicants were people of color \n 43% of applicants identified as female (47% male) \n 43% of applicants identified as straight\n 57% of applicants belonging to Gen X\, with Millennial and Boomer generations split evenly\n\n\nThe final slate of 2020 Board Members will be announced and presented for a majority vote to the membership at our July 30th Virtual B2B Networking event. During this event\, we will also be recognizing outgoing Board President and Founding Board Member Danny Zaslavsky. Register now for the B2B to exercise your right as a Mid-America LGBT Chamber member to vote on the 2020 Slate of Board Members. \n\n \n\nThe Chamber is excited about our efforts to recruit diverse board members but recognizes there are still gaps in representation\, including more Latinx and Transgender applicants.
